Peacemakers Ball, USAF Feltwell, 4th July 2007

The British government has slavishly followed US foreign policy without question. This has lead Britain into two protracted and costly wars. If the UK is a friend of the US then it should sometimes be critical and questioning.
Star wars – Protecting Who?
Feltwell is likely to be part of the missile defence
system the US is building that is supposed to protect
the US from missile attack. Even some NATO countries
are worried since it will not necessarily protect
Europe a possible attack.
New Arms Race?
It is unlikely that Russia, China and other states
will let their missile systems become useless – they
will develop more and better missiles leading to a
worldwide arms race. President Putin of Russia is
already threatening to re-target their missiles into
Europe (no doubt Feltwell, Lakenheath and Mildenhall
will be amongst the targets).
Full Spectrum Dominance
Although the ‘missile defence’ system is being sold to
the public as a defensive measure many analysts see it
as part of the US military’s plans of “dominating the
space dimension of military operations to protect US
interests and investment”.
Unaccountable
The US has a large number of bases in the UK including
Alconbury, Croughton, Fairford, Feltwell, Fylingdales,
Lakenheath, Menwith Hill, Mildenhall, Molesworth, St
Mawgan and Welford. Although they are described as RAF
bases the British government has little control or
knowledge of what happens in the bases. We know that
torture flight and arms for Israel have been flown in
and out of Mildenhall and attacks on Libya, Iraq and
Afghanistan have taken place from Lakenheath.
Nuclear Weapons
The Hans Blix Weapons of Mass Destruction Commission
reports that: ‘Every state that possesses nuclear
weapons should make a commitment not to deploy any
nuclear weapon, of any type, on foreign soil’.
The US is the only country which keeps nuclear
weapons in foreign countries – Britain (110 B61 at
Lakenheath), Germany, Netherlands, Turkey, Belgium and
Italy. Denmark Norway & Spain refuse to allow US nukes
in their countries and Greece, Canada, Denmark
(Greenland), and Iceland have had US nuclear weapons
removed from their countries.

Directions:
Follow the A-11 to five points intersection (A 1065,
Brandon, A 1101, Mildenhall, Bury St. Edmonds, A-11
Thetford)
Take the A 1065 towards Brandon, (RAF Lakenheath). Follow A 1065 until intersection with B 1112. Turn LEFT towards Lakenheath Village. (if you come to RAF Lakenheath, you missed the turn)
Follow the B 1112 through Lakenheath Village, Hockwold, until you come to RAF Feltwell (15-20 minutes). RAF Feltwell is recognizable by the large golf balls on the base. The left hand turn comes up very quick.

The United States currently has an estimated 480 nuclear weapons in Europe which are committed to NATO but are controlled by US Command.
United States and NATO policies include plans for ‘first use’ with nuclear weapons in a conflict, whether the target country has nuclear weapons or not.
The US nuclear weapons in Europe violate principles of the Nuclear Non- Proliferation Treaty (NPT) and discourage other states from disarming or respecting the NPT themselves.
These nuclear bombs are a danger to the communities around them and have nearly led to terrible disasters several times.
The US/NATO nukes are a variety of explosive yields; from bombs ten times as big as the Hiroshima bomb to the smaller bombs that the US Pentagon calls ‘usable’ nukes. These weapons are for use by both US and European aircraft that can carry conventional and nuclear weapons.
To Rid Europe of U.S NATO Nukes
We need joint European action!
This year is the 60th Anniversary of the end of the
Nuremberg War Crimes Tribunal when the following
principals was established:
“Individuals have international duties which transcend the
national obligations of obedience...Therefore (individual
citizens) have the duty to violate domestic laws to prevent
crimes against peace and humanity from occurring”
That’s why on October 1st 2006 people
from all over Europe will be side by
side saying:
